Why does it bother people if animal abuse is publicly exposed? Do animals have no right to be heard? You cry out at child abuse, violence against women, etc. When an animal suffers, you remain silent. Why? I do not understand that. Every day an animal suffers or dies at the hand of humans. They suffer silently, vegetate away. And what do you do about it? You close your eyes. You just don’t want to see it.

Have we really become so cold and heartless that we just don’t care if a living being suffers? They cannot speak for themselves. They are defenselessly exposed to humans. Animals are treated as an object. When it’s no longer needed, we throw it away. The laws are not strict enough either. In some countries, an animal abuser is not punished at all. But even here, the penalties are too low.

I have found a group on FB where I report such abuses. My posts don’t always show beautiful pictures and stories, but that is the purpose of the group. We want to shake people up. Show them that their ideal world does not exist like this. Posts are shared by animal welfare associations who work tirelessly and on a voluntary basis for these poor souls. Calls for donations and care places are shared to help the animals and give them a carefree life. Even if it seemed so hopeless at the beginning.

Why do you want to look away?

Of course, such pictures are not always beautiful. But that’s the cruel truth and you just look the other way. Just because these pictures don’t fit into YOUR ideal world. Or you say they’ll break you. And that you know that cruelty to animals exists. Yet you protest when you are confronted with images.

Since I follow many animal welfare associations on FB, I am confronted with these pictures and stories every day. It’s not easy for me either to process what I see. But looking the other way doesn’t help anyone. In many cases, help comes too late, they can only relieve them from their torments. But there is also the other side, the success stories. The transformation of tormented souls. And that’s exactly why I’m sharing the posts.

We live in a cruel world. But we can change something by changing. Anyone can actively protect animals. You don’t have to be part of an organization or donate a certain amount of money every month. Share posts on Facebook, show the world what happens every day. How animals have to suffer. Be the voice and stand up for the tortured animals.

What can you do to help?

Many animals vegetate and suffer, are in great pain and the owners inflict it on them. If you see abuse then take action. Do not look away. That doesn’t help any animal. Get involved, no matter what it costs. Be persistent. Notify the police, animal welfare, or official veterinarian.

Maybe you have a few dollars left to donate. Or you own a pet yourself and you have things at home that your animal no longer needs. For example cat or dog food that your darling won’t eat. In the next animal shelter, someone would be happy about it.

Sign petitions. They also help the animals. Talk to your friends. Educate them and ask them to support you. Intervene when you see an animal being mistreated. Doesn’t support companies that support animal testing to sell their products. How can I stop animal testing?

  • Buy cruelty-free cosmetics.
  • Contact cosmetics manufacturers.
  • Buy cruelty-free detergents.
  • Clarify your environment.
  • Opt for an animal-friendly degree.
  • Stand up against animal experiments in your studies.
  • Protest against animal testing.

Here are big companies that do animal testing:

  1. L’Orèal,
  2. Estèe Lauder,
  3. Procter & Gamble,
  4. Chlorox,
  5. Johnson & Johnson,
  6. S.C. Johnson,
  7. Colgate-Palmolive,
  8. Reckitt Benckiser,
  9. Church & Dwight,
  10. Unilever and Henkel.

Well-known products such as Nivea, Eucerin, Labello, 8 × 4, and Florena are linked to animal testing because their main company is involved.

Why you?

Quite simply because everyone is asked. Together we can make a difference, together we are strong. Don’t just look away when you see an animal in need.

  • A dog does not belong on the chain outside. He too needs social connections, warm accommodation, healthy food, and plenty of water.
  • Outdoor cats must be neutered. Tell your friends and acquaintances about this if they shouldn’t already know.
  • If you see an injured animal, try to capture it and take it to the nearest vet. Call an animal welfare association if you can’t do it on your own.
  • If you see animal abuse, please report it immediately.
  • Does your neighbor treat his animal badly? Call the police. Don’t wait until it’s too late for the animal.
  • If you notice poisonous bait, please notify the police immediately and secure the area.
  • Do not buy an animal from a so-called backyard breeder, report them immediately.
  • The same goes for cat owners. It is increasingly not neutered and there is more animal suffering. Do you know such a person then please report them.
  • Share posts on FB that can help rescue and save the animals.

You should also not buy an animal on eBay, as this only supports the illegal puppy trade. More and more animals are simply abandoned and left to their fate. Keep your eyes open Many of these abandoned animals do not survive. In one terrible animal abuse case, the abandoned dog ate its leg so he would not starve.

In conclusion

I decided to write this post because I am committed to animal abuse. Unfortunately, some of my “friends” on FB don’t understand that just sharing the posts wakes people up. In some cases, sensitive and terrible images are shown. But it is happening on a daily basis. Usually, I only share in my group, which is intended to point out such cruel cases of cruelty to animals.

Some posts may also appear on my profile. But if you don’t want to see these posts, you can ignore them or just push them away. But they shouldn’t be a reason to remove me from your friends’ list. But if you remove me anyway, then you don’t deserve my friendship either. You can talk it out with me before you hit the button. Also that you lied to me with the announcement “I have not unfriended you and I do not know how that happened”. For me, this is a cowardly act.
