You can easily connect your Website with your Facebook profile and other social Profiles using All In One SEO. The wizard will take you through the settings.
The next step we have to take is setting up a Theme. Finding the right one is not so easy. The first thing you should think about is what you want to express with your page. Is it for a business, an online store, a blog, or maybe a combination of everything? What business are you presenting? Which type of business, company, or private institution?
Another aspect is the speed of the theme. If your site is too slow, it is bad for your business and the number of visitors drops. Future customers will turn to competitors quickly because nobody wants to wait too long for the website to open up.
For right now all that we have is the default theme. Of course, you can use it and customize it the way you want.
Let us search for some nice-looking Themes. It needs to be fast and SEO-ready. Also easy to customize, right? But how can we find what we are looking for? There are lots of Themes on WordPress. Let’s go back to the dashboard, hover over Appearance, and click on Themes.
Now, click Add New and a new window will pop up. For right now we have about 4381 Themes available. Also, we can choose between popular, latest, and favorites. Or you type in the search, what kind of Theme you looking for, such as Blog, Business, Portfolio, and so on. When you have found a theme that suits you, have a look at it in the preview before you install it. Most of the designs are very different from the ones shown. That’s why you have to customize it afterward for your needs. Read the details as well.
Choose a lightweight Theme for faster loading such as:
- Ocean WP
But whatever theme you choose, it is all up to you. These are only suggestions.
So now that you installed WP and a decent theme, you can actually work on the Styling and the design to make your page look amazing. I’ll go on with this series and next to explain how the site is set up and styled. We will also create our first page and post and we will dive deeper into SEO. Now have a lot of fun and success with the creation of your WP page.
